- You can cancel your subscription at any time from the Billing page, no email required.
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You keep paid benefits until then.
- Unused credits roll over and never expire. If you cancel, you keep them.
- We do not generally offer refunds for partial billing periods, but we will always honor refund rights required by applicable law.
- If a generation job fails or returns no usable cards, we automatically restore the credits charged for that job.
How to Cancel
Mnestica subscriptions are managed through our payment processor, Stripe. To cancel:
- Sign in to your account.
- Open the Billing page.
- Click Manage subscription, which opens the Stripe-hosted customer portal.
- Choose Cancel subscription and confirm.
Your subscription will be marked as canceled immediately, and auto-renewal will be disabled. You will receive an email confirmation from Stripe.
If you cannot access the Billing page (for example, because of a login problem), email support@mnestica.ai from the address associated with your account and we will cancel it for you.
What Happens When You Cancel
- Access until period end. You keep full paid access — including any Mnestica Pro features — until the end of the period you already paid for.
- No further charges. Auto-renewal is turned off; your payment method will not be billed again unless you resubscribe.
- Credits are yours. Any unused credits in your balance remain usable for as long as your account exists, even after your subscription ends. Credits have no cash value and are not refundable.
- Your content stays. Your decks, notes, cards, and review history remain in your account. You can continue to study with what you already generated.
- Resubscribing. You can start a new subscription at any time from the Billing page. New subscriptions begin a new billing cycle at the current price.
Refund Policy
Mnestica subscriptions are billed in advance for each monthly period. We do not generally provide refunds or credit for partial billing periods, unused time on a subscription, or unused credits. Because canceling takes effect at the end of the current period and you keep paid access until then, the fair and simple option is to cancel before your next renewal.
We will consider a refund on a case-by-case basis if:
- You were charged in error (for example, a duplicate charge or a billing bug on our side).
- You were unable to meaningfully use the Service due to a sustained outage or failure attributable to us.
- A refund is required by applicable law in your jurisdiction.
To request a refund, email support@mnestica.ai from the address on your account and include the date and amount of the charge. If we approve a refund, it will be returned to the original payment method within 5–10 business days, depending on your card issuer or bank.
Failed Generation Jobs
If an AI flashcard-generation job fails, errors out, or returns zero usable cards, our system automatically returns the credits that were charged for that job to your balance. This happens without any action from you. If you see a completed job that you believe should have been treated as a failure — for example, if the generated cards are unusable — contact support@mnestica.ai and we will review it.
Disputed Charges
Before filing a chargeback with your card issuer, please contact us at support@mnestica.ai. In almost every case we can resolve a dispute faster than a chargeback, and reach a better outcome for both of us.
Deleting Your Account and Data
Canceling a subscription does not delete your account. If you also want to close your account and remove your data:
- Email us from the address on your account and specify whether you are requesting an export, deletion, or both.
- Send the request to support@mnestica.ai.
- After verifying the request, we will delete or de-identify personal information from production systems within 30 days where we can do so. Billing records, invoices, Stripe audit records, and security logs may be retained where needed for accounting, compliance, fraud prevention, or dispute handling.
